September 28, 2015, Bay Shore, NY:  IPVideo Corporation, manufacturer of IP-based video surveillance and command center solutions, and Punch Technologies, manufacturer of Punch Alert, the only all-in-one mass emergency communication platform for schools, have entered into a strategic partnership that allows IPVideo Corporation to directly sell Punch Alert to its dealer network. In addition, IPVideo has sole distribution rights within the states of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, providing its dealer network in those states with unique access to a powerful security tool that will soon integrate seamlessly with IPVideo’s SentryVMS security management and C3fusion command center solutions.

Punch Alert, a mobile app available for iOS and Android devices, improves security for schools and university campuses by providing a panic button on the users’ smartphone that, once pressed, alerts emergency responders of a potentially life-threatening situation. Through the use of GPS and iBeacon/Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology, Punch Alert captures the location of the initial report and then actively monitors the location of all faculty and staff until the emergency is resolved. Responders can share information contained within the alert notification with others on campus, as appropriate, involving them collaboratively in the response effort.

Once integrated with IPVideo surveillance solutions, a Punch Alert reported emergency can trigger the call up of video from nearby cameras and other relevant security data for review by security officers, providing further situation awareness for those responding to the event.

Punch Alert streamlines communication by enabling faculty, staff and students to submit information and emergency responders to deliver mass updates during emergencies. The solution is extremely cost effective and easy to implement, as the app can be downloaded quickly and easily to smart devices already in use by school faculty.

Greg Artzt, CEO of Punch Technologies explains, “Punch Alert offers a unique combination of smart communication, emergency management and real-time location awareness that makes it the ideal platform for protecting a school campus.”

“IPVideo is thrilled to now offer Punch Alert to our dealer network, as we feel it aligns perfectly with our company mission to ‘expand the boundaries of technology.’ Punch Alert clearly represents a new standard in school security and we’re pleased to play a key role in bringing it to the marketplace,” said Margie Gurwin, Director of Marketing for IPVideo Corporation.
